The Complexity Of History

  Indonesian people's struggle

Read about the history of Indonesia is like panning for gold in the river, I mean the history of Indonesia before the 15th century. A lot of confusing information that must be sorted aggregated confusing to me is not a historian.

Talking about Indonesia or the archipelago of course is not just about Java, but admittedly this island does play an important role in any political movements from time to time. Royal dynasty that was on the island still holds even more inclined to the role of social culture.

When compared to the history of the archipelago was Bernard M Vleckke the History of Modern Indonesia (1200-2008) written by MC Ricklefs, both contain some commonality of view. Both discuss many of the island of Java as a center of change. However, Ricklefs also discuss the development of Islam in Java. The good news is the second book seeks to show the development of the archipelago as objective as possible based on valid documents are scattered and not purely rely on the Chronicle or Negarakertagama.

There are so many questions during this menggayuti; Demak, all our knowledge is founded by a fracture which he said Raden is the son of the King of Majapahit with the Chinese princess, but in this book and other books I have ever read is said to be a foreigner from China named Ko Checks Po. Does not mean because Raden Broken Majapahit thoroughbred thus be regarded as a foreigner.

Similarly Kalagemet or Jayanegara coronation as King of Majapahit, which reportedly can not be accepted by the court because the blood is withered away from his mother, Dara Orange.

If the descendants of the Majapahit empire's influence over the fight, why it has not happened to Demak? ... Jaka Tingkir or Sultan Hadiwijaya after defeating Arya Penangsang rather stay on the throne in Pajang not in Demak, so that the kingdom was lost.

Sutawijaya also seem to prefer the set up and break the history of the Mataram kingdom with Demak and Display. Looks even more likely Mataram mengafiliasikan himself with Majapahit Hindu empire.

Is it true Ki Gede Pamanahan are descendants of Majapahit? It appears that the legitimacy of the ancient kingdom of Majapahit was required either legally or not.

Nyi Rara Senopati alliance with the South, the ruler of the southern ocean lelembut was more inclined towards Islamic syncretic Hindu compared to pure Islam.

Islam does teach keegaliteran when compared with the caste Hindu caste, but still not be completely overhauled system of Hindu Javanese kingdom that tends to put the King as the center of the universe.

Islamic teachings were tersinkretis with Hinduism. Things are different when we compare it with Islam in Sumatra.

Unfortunately if Sutawijaya to legitimize Islamic Mataram by Majapahit, he forgot that the Majapahit is a maritime country with a strong navy. While he set up base in the former Mataram Mentaok located in the interior. Mataram is a difficult position to get support from the Duke in the Coastal. With that Mataram should release its grip on the coastal areas of Java

Sultan Agung was the failure of the attack to Batavia is largely due to lack of support from the coastal authorities.

But the location is located in the interior that does not mean merely the loss. Mataram is relatively steady and can withstand attacks from outside the culture. In this case the influence of Islam are relatively more lenient in accepting mysticism that ultimately cause the flow of Javanese or Islamic hinduan kehindu.

Pride in his ancestors culture create a natural filter for foreign influence.
